Our take
This is why people buy Brother mono lasers: the compatible toner market is huge and cheap. This twin pack is the best-reviewed of the current batch (4.5★ from several hundred buyers) and ships with the chip fitted, so the printer recognises it without any reset dance. Expect crisp text; expect slightly lighter solid blacks and greys than genuine.
Two honest caveats. First, third-party yields are always optimistic — plan on 2,500 usable pages rather than 3,000. Second, Brother's firmware updates have occasionally locked out compatibles; if your printer nags you to update, it's fine to decline. For invoices, letters and school printing this is the cartridge to buy. For anything going to a client where print quality matters, stay genuine.

Genuine vs compatible — which should you buy?
Genuine cartridges cost more per page but carry the maker's warranty, hit the quoted page yield reliably, and never trip firmware "unrecognised cartridge" blocks.
Compatible (third-party) cartridges are typically 40–70% cheaper. Quality is fine from reputable sellers, but yields are optimistic, colour accuracy varies, and some brands (HP with HP+ in particular) actively block them. For a mono laser printing text, compatibles are usually the sensible buy; for colour or warranty-critical kit, stay genuine.
