| Best for | High-volume workgroups — the 100-sheet feeder is the standout. | Networked office scanning — wired LAN, no PC required, broad driver support. |
Which should you buy?
Both are workgroup A4 scanners around £300–£400 that scan without a PC. The ES-580W has Wi-Fi, a 4.3-inch touchscreen and the biggest feeder in its class at 100 sheets. The ADS-4300N is wired Gigabit Ethernet only, slightly faster at 40 ppm, with an 80-sheet feeder, an ultrasonic double-feed sensor and the widest driver support (TWAIN, WIA, ISIS, SANE).
If the scanner sits on a desk and people scan to email or the cloud from it, the Epson's touchscreen and Wi-Fi are the friendlier setup. If it lives by the router and has to be rock-solid for several users scanning to network folders, the Brother.
