This week (22nd of October) sees the birthday of the photocopier. It was 1938 that Chester F Carlson produced the first Xerography device.
The first copy was the words ‘10-22-38 Astoria’. The technology though wasn’t taken up by everyone. Kodak famously let the change go by and Xerox set up office over the road to them in Rochester, New York, just to rub it in a little I suspect. Having worked for Kodak in the early 90’s I am more than familiar with the story.
